In Short
- The French Open will start on May 25
- The final is scheduled for June 8
- Swiatek and Alcaraz are the deafening champions
The 129th edition of the French Open is set to run from Sunday, May 25 to Sunday, June 8. The main draws were announced on Thursday, May 22 and the qualifying rounds concluded on Friday.
As the second Grand Slam of the year, the tournament will feature top stars including Iga Swiatek, Novak Djokovic, Aryna Sabalenka, and Carlos Alcaraz.
Swiatek enters as the defending champion, having defeated Jasmine Paolini in last year’s final. The Pole has already claimed three consecutive titles at Roland Garros and is aiming to become the first woman to win four in a row. However, she has not captured a WTA title since her win in Paris and has dropped to No. 5 in the rankings.
On the men's side, Carlos Alcaraz is the reigning champion after his victory over Alexander Zverev in last year’s final. The Spaniard is in superb form this season, with clay-court titles at both the Monte Carlo Masters and the Italian Open.

Meanwhile, all eyes are on former World No.1 Novak Djokovic. The 24-time Grand Slam winner has struggled in 2025, suffering four first-round exits and going without a major title since the 2024 US Open.
Rising star Mirra Andreeva, just 18 years old, is another name to watch. She made history as the youngest WTA 1000 champion in Dubai and followed it up with a title at Indian Wells.
