65-year-old woman breaks stereotypes, drives auto rickshaw in Maharashtra

Mangala Awale, a 65-year-old woman from Nandgaon, Maharashtra, has started driving an auto rickshaw to maintain her independence. Widowed long ago, Mangala raised her children working as a labourer. She now earns Rs 500 to 700 daily after expenses. Mangala states, 'When I earn even 100-150 or 500 rupees by driving the rickshaw, I feel good that I've earned it myself, not from my son or daughter-in-law.'
