Terror Attack In Pahalgam Highlights: India on Thursday formally notified Pakistan of India's decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty with immediate effect following the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people. In a letter addressed to the Secretary of Pakistan's Ministry of Water Resources, Jal Shakti Ministry Secretary Debashree Mukherjee conveyed New Delhi's move to place the decades-old agreement in abeyance. India also briefed ambassadors of select countries, including the US, the UK and China, on the Pahalgam terror attack. This comes after India downgraded diplomatic ties with Pakistan and announced major diplomatic measures, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 and immediate shutting down of the Attari-Wagah border. In response, Pakistan announced tit-for-tat measures, including the shutting down of its airspace for Indian flights. Rekha Gupta, a three-time councillor, started her political career with the Delhi University Students Union elections.
